"Lovely film.....but is it complete??" 2009-10-04
By Jiten S. Merchant (Bombay, India)
I have the earlier DVD release and am thinking of replacing it with this one, for the following reason:

3 songs are cut from my copy of the film, though they are on the soundtrack CD. They are "My Lord and Master", "I have dreamed" and Anna's soliloquy. Were these filmed and then removed from the final cut of the film? If so, does the 50th anniversary edition of the film provide these songs as "extras"?

I think any "special edition" DVD-release of a film MUST include all material that was later removed by the studio for whatever reason; as included in the latest releases of "South Pacific", "Mutiny on the Bounty" and "Bells are Ringing" to name only three. Does this "50th anniversary edition" of "The King and I" do the same?

Yul Brynner was the first bald man I ever found attractive. He opened the door for me to find Bruce Willis attractive in time. Great classic movie, I love it!

I love this movie! The only problem I have with this particular version is that it is for wide screen only.

 "Extremely dissatisfied" 2009-07-07
By P. D. Bertone (central virginia)
We never received the DVD in the mail. Needless to say, we are extremely unhappy and would not recommend this vendor. I would have given the vendor "0" stars, but the webpage would not process unless I checked a star.

This CD has a great mix of best songs by The Beatles. I would call this a best buy in a sole CD from The Beatles. The Beatles 1

"Like the Beatles? Then it's an easy decision!" 2009-09-07
By Ryan Bowersox (FL)
I am by no means an expert on the Beatles and I can't even place myself in a respectable "fan" category. Bottom line: I like the Beatles music, so I bought this greatest hits CD.

If you like, love, would die for (well, maybe this is going to far), the Beatles...then you obviously don't have to think about it any further. :-)

If your wondering if it's worth it, of course it is! You cannot go wrong with the Beatles. It's really that simple.

 "Amazing deal" 2009-08-16
By beatles88 (New York)
How often can you get 27 hit songs on one disc for such a good price? [7.99 when I got it]. That alone is reason enough. Plus the songs were all remastered, they sound better then the late 80s CDs (not as good as the 2009 versions though I'll assume.) Still a great deal for so many good songs on one disc. And if you like photos, the booklet has plenty of the bands singles from around the world. Would make the perfect gift for someone who is maybe just starting to listen to them or hasn't really listened to their music at all.

 "All your Beatles favorites" 2009-07-22
By D. J. Nardi (Washington, DC)
This album has all of the basic Beatles hits. While it's not as comprehensive as the Red and Blue albums, it's pretty much most of them. The only notable exceptions are that it's missing Strawberry Fields and Back in the USSR.

"Nice Addition To Beatles CDs" 2009-07-17
By Edith Macrae
There are many Beatles Cds and packages and repackages out there. This one is nice to have since it has all the Number One hits in order. I liked the "newer albums" they did and have a couple of those, but actually did not have some of these songs, so it was nice.

The remastered versions of the songs I know are great, and to have all these songs on one CD makes for a good start to finish overview of the Beatles and how they changed.

Liked it and worth it.
